Another Homegrown Leader for Bulacan Polytechnic College

October 2, 2020

The passing of our former College President Dr. Perlita "Pearl" Cruz left a huge sorrow in the hearts of every BPCian whose lives were touched by her strong and passionate spirit. Known by her closest colleagues as The Iron Lady of BPC, her visionary ideas have brought this institution to the precipice of success and victory. Hence, the search for the next person who will continue what she started may sound like a needle in a haystack. Fortunately, Bulacan Polytechnic College is home to the best, experienced, and deserving leaders that Doc Pearl was proud to work with. One of them is Mrs. Victoria M. Sison also known as Ma'am Beth - our OIC - College President. A graduate of Bachelor in Accountancy Degree at Polytechnic University of the Philippines in Sta. Mesa, Manila with a Master's degree in Education Major in Curriculum and Instructions, Mrs. Sison is a perfect candidate for the position. She is currently taking a Doctor of Philosophy Major in Educational Leadership and Management at La Consolacion University of the Philippines, which makes her more qualified and suitable for the role. She is a homegrown individual who spent a lot of years of her professional career in BPC. When asked why she stayed, she said, with a proud smile, "BPC has been my second home for so many years, I love working with my colleagues, and it really makes me feel good and fulfilled whenever BPC brings positive changes in the lives of our graduates." Aside from her impressive credentials, Ma'am Beth is also known for her pleasing personality and humility. As a matter of fact, she can be easily identified. She has one of the most beautiful smiles in BPC; a smile that can turn your unpleasant mood into a pleasant one.

During freshmen orientation, she is one of the faces who warmingly welcomes the new addition to our family. Apart from her administrative role, she also enjoys her teaching role. She even accepted teaching loads despite her demanding workload. Her fervor and commitment to this institution come from her faith in God. She believes that in every decision that you have to make no matter how hard it is, make a decision that is in accordance with the will of the Lord and do not put your success or your title in your head, remain humble and a peace-loving person.

Her humility is so evident that despite being appointed as the next College President, she still feels that there are others who are more deserving than her. She said, "I will not be forever OIC in the Office of the College President because I believe that our good Governor Daniel will be appointing somebody as the successor of Doc Pearly (SLN), in my capacity as Vice-President for Academic Affairs, you can expect that I will continue in helping the College President whoever he/she may be in ensuring quality education in BPC." With everything mentioned about Ma'am Beth, we are confident that this institution is in good hands! Congratulations and we pray for your success in the future.
