July 19, 2018

Last July 13, 2018, the Bulacan Polytechnic College Angat Campus held an orientation at the library for the 2nd batch of beneficiaries of scholarship. This scholarship is offered by the Technical Educational and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) which is under the Office of the President in partnership with our Provincial Employment Service Office (PESO).

Senator Loren Legarda has given our Governor Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado a total of 2.5 million pesos to cover the scholarship. This amount was entrusted to Bulacan Polytechnic College and the privilege to give 120 slots for the following courses: Book Keeping, House Keeping, and Shielded Metal Art Welding (SMAW). The classes will be handled by the BPC teachers Mrs. Ericka Dumlao, Dr. Rosemarie Guirre and Mr. Joey de Vera.

The aim of this scholarship is to offer a door of opportunity and progress to those people who want to study and work immediately while being fully equipped with the knowledge and skills.

The BPC Malolos, being the school that will conduct the skill training of scholars, is spearheaded by BPC College President Dr. Perlita M. Cruz, Vice President for Academic Affairs Mrs. Victoria Sison who presided the event, and Engr. Arman M. Giron, VP for Administration and Finance who expressed their zealous fervour to the grantees.

TESDA scholarship head, Ms. Iah Manansala, discussed the scope of the scholarship, the requirements as well as benefits of the program. As being grantees of a National Certificate (NC), they have the privilege to work abroad or become local entrepreneurs. Likewise, she expressed that the program is open for all as long as they show perseverance and prove their willingness to learn.
