Dr. Cruz: BPC-No longer just a Tech-Voc School

February 1, 2018

"I foresee BPC as a local college which is no longer just a technical-vocational school..."

This was the statement of the Bulacan Polytechnic College (BPC) college president, Dr. Perlita M. Cruz in an interview about BPC development plan last January.

Dr. Cruz said that BPC have applied on Commission on Higher Education (CHED) to offer other degree courses such as: Bachelor of Science in Accounting Information System (BSAIS), Bachelor of Science in Accounting Technology (BSAT), Bachelor of Science in Associate Computer Technology (BSACT) and Bachelor of Science in Technical Teacher Education (BSTTE).

"We will be needing a support from students to help us disseminate a new market, BPC, aside from two existing four-year courses: Bachelor of Science in Office Management (BSOM) and Bachelor of Science in Information System (BSIS)", said the college president.

Dr. Perlita also added that aside from adding another set of degree courses, the BPC facilities will expand as it starts the construction of another building, two-story which compose of six (6) classrooms and one (1) administration building.

Dr. Cruz also stated that they have a plan to construct another building for the Hotel and Restaurant Services (HRS) department and a mini hostel for housekeeping. There are also plans to add two (2) more classrooms for the students of BSAIS and BSTTE. Also, a plan to construct a covered court beside the building; students' activity center; and another students' canteen. If the Department of Education (DepEd) will permit BPC to offer senior high school (SHS), there's a plan to construct a building for SHS students only.

"If I will be given a chance to extend my term that will expire after four years, we will be adding more programs that focuses on technology for the young people of Bulacan.", Dr. Cruz said.
